 From the Brink of Destitution to Data Analyst at Phillips 66: My Journey and What Comes Next

Hello everyone, my name is Michael Ogunwemimo, and I’m excited to finally share my story with you. If someone had told me just a few years ago that I would be where I am today—working at Phillips 66 as a Data Analyst—I would have laughed in disbelief. Back then, I was hovering dangerously close to rock bottom, unsure how I was going to pay my bills or even put food on the table. Looking back, it’s incredible to see how each struggle, each opportunity, and each hard-won victory steered me toward the life I’m living now.

I found my footing when I discovered my passion for data analytics. Numbers and insights became more than just symbols on a spreadsheet; they were pathways to solutions. I poured myself into learning and developing skills that, in time, opened the door to a position at Phillips 66. Over the years, I’ve been blessed with mentors and supporters who helped me rise from my lowest point to a place of stability and professional success. Yet my journey is far from over.

With today’s digital landscape, I realize that there’s never been a better time to harness the power of the internet—both for personal growth and for financial gain. Now, as I look to the future, my goal is to build a side hustle and create multiple streams of income using online platforms. I plan to share it all: from my early brainstorming sessions and small wins, to the bigger breakthroughs and the inevitable challenges along the way.
